Scuti

Introduction:

About:

Scuti is an AI-powered Social Media Strategy Assistant designed to help authors and content creators plan, organize, and grow their intellectual property (IP) across multiple social media platforms. Instead of generating individual posts, Scuti follows a structured workflow to create platform-specific content that maintains brand consistency, improves audience engagement, and supports long-term growth.

For this case study, I used my original fantasy series, Chaos’s Key (Link), as the demonstration use case. Its rich worldbuilding and distinct brand voice make it an ideal project for designing and evaluating an AI-driven social media planning workflow.

At a high level, Scuti analyzes the user’s goals, adapts content for each platform, and generates engaging, brand-consistent social media strategies that feel natural and authentic rather than generic. Although demonstrated using Chaos’s Key, the underlying architecture is designed to be reusable for authors, publishers, and other creative brands.

Problem:

  • Business Challenge: Independent authors face a unique challenge when promoting an original intellectual property. Unlike established franchises, they must build visibility from the ground up while creating enough content to introduce their world, characters, and story to new audiences. As outlined in my year-long marketing strategy, growing a new fantasy universe requires consistent, platform-appropriate content over time rather than isolated promotional posts. Chaos's Key is an original epic fantasy universe featuring extensive worldbuilding, original characters, and visual assets. This makes it well suited for platforms such as Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, each of which attracts different audiences and favors different types of content.

  • Why Existing Workflows Are Inefficient: Managing multiple social media platforms requires significant planning, research, and adaptation. Each platform has different content formats, posting styles, audience expectations, and engagement strategies. For independent creators balancing creative work with a full-time job, producing platform-specific content consistently becomes both time-consuming and difficult to scale. Generic AI writing tools can accelerate content creation, but they typically lack knowledge of the project's lore, brand voice, long-term marketing strategy, and platform-specific best practices.

  • Why a Simple Chatbot Isn't Enough: Most conversational AI assistants respond to individual prompts without understanding the broader marketing strategy behind a creative project. They often generate isolated captions instead of coordinated campaigns and have limited awareness of platform differences, audience expectations, or the creator's intellectual property. Creating an effective social media strategy requires more than generating text. It requires planning, adapting, validating, and maintaining a consistent brand voice across multiple platforms.

Solution:

Scuti addresses these challenges by replacing manual content planning with a structured AI workflow. Instead of functioning as a traditional chatbot that simply generates text, Scuti understands the creator's goals and intellectual property (IP), retrieves relevant brand knowledge, adapts content for different social media platforms, validates its outputs, and produces coordinated social media strategies that support long-term audience growth.

Design Philosophy:

Powerful AI should feel simple. Scuti is designed to hide technical complexity behind an intuitive, customizable, and user-friendly experience, allowing creators to focus on storytelling instead of workflow management.

Project Objectives:

  • Build an effective, reusable AI workflow tailored to the social media needs of authors and content creators.

  • Reduce the time and effort required to plan and create platform-specific social media content.

  • Generate natural, engaging, and brand-consistent content that reflects the creator's unique voice instead of generic AI-generated responses.

  • Adapt content to the best practices, audience, and format of each social media platform, including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, TikTok, and YouTube.

  • Create a scalable workflow that supports long-term content planning rather than isolated social media posts.

  • Improve marketing efficiency by streamlining content creation while maintaining quality and consistency.

  • Increase brand visibility and audience awareness by helping creators publish relevant and engaging content more consistently.

  • Design a flexible architecture that can be reused and customized for different authors, publishers, and creative brands.

  • Demonstrate modern AI engineering practices, including workflow orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), structured outputs, validation, and evaluation.

Knowledge Architecture (RAG)

Why Retrieval-Augmented Generation?

Instead of relying solely on a generic language model's internal knowledge, Scuti retrieves verified information from a dedicated knowledge base before generating responses. Its knowledge base combines the official Chaos's Key manuscript, canon lore, character profiles, and brand documentation with best practices and official guidance from reputable social media platforms and marketing resources. This retrieval-first approach helps maintain factual accuracy, preserve brand consistency, generate platform-appropriate content, and reduce hallucinations.

Insights

Issues and Suggestions

UI Confusion: Certain elements like the sketch window and character menus were unclear to users. They suggested clearer labeling and separating combined buttons (e.g., "Style and About") for improved interaction.

Font and Icon Size: Users noted the small text and icon sizes made navigation difficult, especially for those with visual impairments. Increasing both would enhance accessibility.

Tutorial Need: A short tutorial was recommended to help new users understand the layout and key functions from the start, easing the onboarding process.

Feature Requests:

  • Preview Option: Users requested the ability to preview stories across different devices (phones, tablets, web).

  • Character Upload Flexibility: Users wanted more control over character uploads, allowing them to bypass AI interpretations for more accurate design control.

Takeaways

TaleVision, born from challenges in animation and storytelling, leverages a supervised learning AI to streamline comic creation. This system was developed in response to the limitations of existing artistic AI platforms that often faltered in consistency and interpreting detailed prompts.

Through extensive user testing, TaleVision demonstrated its appeal beyond seasoned artists to captivate non-artists eager to bring their stories to life visually, despite lacking traditional drawing skills. This feedback guided significant refinements in TaleVision’s development to improve accessibility and user-friendliness, ensuring the platform met the needs of a diverse user base.

Key developments included simplified navigation, enhanced support features, and maintaining artistic consistency, essential for gaining artists' trust. The evolution into a high-fidelity prototype incorporated these enhancements, along with comprehensive tutorials and accessible support, to assist even the least tech-savvy users.

The journey of TaleVision has highlighted the transformative impact of user feedback in developing technology, especially AI-driven tools for creative expression. It revealed the potential to expand into markets comprising non-traditional user groups and underscored the importance of adaptability in UX design.

As we move forward, developing a beta version will allow us to further test TaleVision’s effectiveness in real-world scenarios and refine its capability to blend AI with human creativity, aiming to democratize the art of storytelling.
